A lawyer, with an extensive professional background that has encompassed significant public and private sector senior executive, director and statutory roles, Damon's professional achievements include appointments as Tasmanian Crown Solicitor, State Ombudsman and Health Complaints Commissioner and CEO of the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tasmania, a serving Alderman on the Hobart City Council and Chairman of the Finance committee.  He was Lord Mayor from 2011-2014.
